At A. D. Rattray we go to great lengths to source interesting and unusual casks from the six traditional whisky regions of Scotland. Each distillery represented is different and every cask is unique.
When we judge that a cask has reached the peak of perfection, we bottle it at its natural strength, colour and with no chill-filtration. This retains the true essence of the spirit and cask interaction for your enjoyment.
There are 4 releases of our Cask Collection per year and for each release we choose between 6 and 8 casks for bottling. These distinctive expressions of whisky are therefore extremely limited in number.
A. D. Rattray’s 60th Cask Collection release is our final selection of 2019.
21 years may separate the eldest and youngest whiskies in the range, however the bold, complex flavours of the Longmorn 2013 and Glenallachie 2012 prove that age isn’t everything.
Peat is strongly represented from the islands of Islay and Mull, while the further trio of Speyside malts range from soft, mellow Knockdhu, to rich, spicy Glenrothes via a vibrant, fruity Glen Spey.
Inchmurrin is the wildcard in the pack; Loch Lomond with a growing reputation.
Finally, at 26 years old, the venerable charm of the Auchroisk 1993 shows just why it deserves the full Vintage Cask Collection treatment.
