Chestnut brown.
Nose
Caramelised raisin, roast cocoa bean and bramble jam.
Palate
Sultana and walnut loaf, dark maple syrup and strawberry compote.
Finish
An elegant flourish of mild tobacco leaf, stem ginger and morello cherry.

Further Information

We highlighted the creamy decadence of sister cask #701262 upon its release aged 7 years in 2017. With double the time in ex-bourbon, and a 10-month finish in a 1st fill Pedro Ximénez (PX) barrique for good measure, the rich extravagance is off the charts here. But far from the one-dimensional raisin syrup that many think of with PX, there are hints of funky, earthy and herbal notes alongside the sweetness.
