Explore Scotch whisky and its fascinating heritage at our A. D. Rattray Whisky Experience, located in the beautifully renovated old village school. We’ll guide you through the next steps on your own whisky journey, whether you’re a whisky lover or enjoying your first dram. Nose and taste exquisite spirits in our Tasting Room, personalise your own bottle in the Cask Room and explore the world’s finest single malts in our shop. You can even view our working Sample Room, where our casks are meticulously evaluated for quality.
You’re welcome to drop in and there’s no charge for the A. D. Rattray Experience. There are no formal tours and our friendly team are always on hand to help you discover more about our favourite subject, whisky. For Whisky and Gin Tastings, please book in advance to avoid disappointment. We look forward to meeting you soon.
Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm all year
Sundays from 12 Noon to 5pm during April-December
We're open as normal throughout the festive period, including Christmas Eve (10am - 6pm) and Hogmany (10am - 6pm).
We will be closed on Christmas Day & Boxing Day and 1st & 2nd January.
You’ll find us on the A77 in the village of Kirkoswald, approximately 14 miles south of Ayr or 50 miles from Glasgow.
Train from Ayr or Girvan to Maybole, followed by a 10-minute taxi journey.
Number 60 bus from Ayr or Girvan to Kirkoswald.
We are fully accessible with level or ramped access throughout and one step from our shop into our cask room. Fully accessible customer toilet facilities are also available.
